“By working here, I can show people my age that we have clothing for everyone. High-quality menswear that looks very good and is contemporary. So maybe I’m doing my bit to pass ROY ROBSON on to the younger generation.”

ABOUT THE VERSATILE TRAINING IN A FAMILY BUSINESS
Oke and Jonas are both training to become industrial clerks. They have already celebrated special occasions such as confirmations or graduation balls at ROY ROBSON and are now going through various departments such as sales, purchasing, production planning and marketing to find the area that suits them best.
How does it feel to do an apprenticeship at ROY ROBSON?
Oke: The good thing about the training is that it is so varied. We are shown all the important areas. You get to know each department for a few months and then you know what you can and can’t imagine doing later on. There is also a familiar, almost friendly atmosphere. Everyone is very open and nice. Everyone here is on first-name terms. Of course there is a hierarchy somewhere, but on a human level you don’t notice it at all. You definitely don’t feel like just another trainee who has nothing to say.
Jonas: And people are allowed to ask questions. I was in logistics, for example, and I wanted to extend my stay because I wanted to find out more. That was very easy to do. You have a bit of a say if you want to.
Do you exchange ideas with each other?
Jonas: Yes, we all get on well and often have lunch together. Once a month, we have a trainee meeting where we discuss current topics and projects.
Oke: And before we started the apprenticeship, we had a welcome dinner with all the apprentices. That’s where we got to know everyone. That’s what’s special here. As a trainee, you come into contact with everyone.
Especially through the ROYCADEMY. This is a format in which departments regularly present what they are working on. In other companies, some people only know their trainers. That’s very different with us.
How do you see your role as an apprentice for ROY ROBSON?
Oke: I would say that we are the next generation. We are what comes next, the next generation. We are here to learn from everyone and eventually take over the tasks. That way, the company can continue to grow. Because we are trained here, we know all the tricks of the trade. That’s a big advantage, because you then live the company in a completely different way.
Jonas: There are always people who stay here after their training. That’s a good perspective. I keep meeting employees who have also completed an apprenticeship here and speak positively about it.
Oke: There’s something else. I’m relatively young at 19. Especially at my age, “being well-dressed” is something else. It doesn’t always have to be a suit, even if it will definitely still be worn at weddings in 100 years’ time. We have the opportunity to pick up the younger generation with casual wear and new products.
Jonas: Exactly. By wearing the clothes, we are making a small contribution to ensuring that more and more young people learn about ROY ROBSON.

ROY ROBSON TOP PICKS
After their first contact with the brand for their confirmation and prom suits , their approach as part of ROY ROBSON is now completely different. Thanks to the discounts for employees, they have already added one or two basic pieces, such as T-shirts or coats , to their closet. They are most excited when they get an exclusive insight into the upcoming collection in the showroom , e.g. with new polo shirts or overshirts .
