always the right look

TANJA AND MARCO FROM THE SALE

WHAT DOES OUR SALES ACTUALLY DO?

ROY ROBSON defines what it means to be well-dressed. Sales is very close to this, because this is where menswear meets customers directly. Every type is different, but with a little knowledge of human nature and just the right advice, everyone ends up finding their perfect ROY ROBSON style – for every occasion and always reliably.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, SELLING HAS A LOT TO DO WITH

A SURE INSTINCT
.

“It doesn’t do me any good if someone goes to a wedding with an outfit that doesn’t fit. Then they ask questions like: ‘Hey, who sold you that? It would be better to say: ‘Wow, that looks good on you, where did you get it?’ Then maybe the whole wedding party will be wearing ROY ROBSON next time.”

ABOUT THE ART OF GIVING THE RIGHT ADVICE

Tanja and Marco have both been part of ROY ROBSON for over five years. They work in the factory outlet in Lüneburg, right next to the headquarters, and make sure that everyone finds the look that best emphasizes their personality.

What is your overarching task?
Marco: We make sure that everyone who comes in here comes out well dressed – with ROY ROBSON. We look at how we can best present and sell the goods on the sales floor.

Tanja: Exactly, we do the entire design of the space, fill it with the goods and make sure it looks chic and beautiful. I always say: “We sell emotions.” People should feel comfortable with us.

What makes the job particularly exciting?
Marco: The different people. Some come in and don’t even know what they’re looking for. If they just picked anything, it wouldn’t work. The fits and cuts are very individual – and that’s where we come in. Professional advice is important.

Tanja: For me, selling is variety. That’s what makes it special for me and that’s why it’s so much fun. We have everything in our store, from outdoor jackets to evening wear. I have to refocus and come up with new ideas for every customer.

Marco: It’s particularly exciting when the customer doesn’t know what they want. Through the discussions, you then realize what is right. More sporty, more elegant? Which colors? You need a good knowledge of human nature.

What is important to you in consulting?
Tanja: We have to take a sensitive approach. But we’ve learned that and know how to deal with different people. Where do I have to be more careful? Who is completely open?

Marco: Which customer can you joke around with?

Tanja: Wit and charm always help. Many years of experience do that. But when it comes to sales, honesty is our top priority. You get a hell of a long way with that and the customers are grateful.

Marco: That’s why we try to bring our own taste in clothing and set an example in terms of style.

What makes you a team?
Tanja: We all have fun with fashion and are who we are. We listen to each other and help each other out. Everyone knows what the others do. Everything fits together.

ROY ROBSON TOP PICKS

Sporty, chic, elegant – that’s the combination of items that Tanja and Marco particularly like to get their hands on. “We have a cool pair of casual trousers with a drawstring, which have a more relaxed cut. You can wear them with sneakers and a T-shirt,” says Marco. Tanja agrees: “A mix or break in style is always nice. I personally like the vests. Not the standard suit vests, but the ones you can combine with jeans and sneakers.”
